Areas of Specialty.

  • Women's Issues

The term “women’s issues” refers to anything that may affect women’s physical and/or mental health. While some issues are specific to women, such as postpartum depression, other issues, such as anxiety or trauma, are experienced by all genders but may affect women differently. Some common women’s issues include prenatal and postpartum health, reproductive health and fertility challenges, relationship difficulties, body image concerns, gender-based violence, sexism, challenging gender roles and societal expectations, and defining their identities beyond the social roles they hold. Together we can help you feel empowered to tackle whatever women’s issue(s) you may be facing.

  • Self-Worth & Self-Compassion

Many of us have picked up the core belief that we are not worthy. Or that no matter what you do, you will never be enough. Maybe these messages came from parents, from school, from partners, or from societal expectations. These narratives can lead you to experience low self-worth, self-criticism, and perfectionistic tendencies. Sure, we can keep up this facade for a while, but eventually it gets exhausting. When we experience low self-worth we are also more likely to experience anxiety and/or depression, unfulfilling relationships, and other problems. Together we can uncover what gives your life meaning and purpose and help you discover your inherent worth all while being more compassionate toward yourself.

  • Burnout & Self-Care

Hustle culture and capitalism have made us believe that our value is tied to our productivity. This idea has led us to work harder and harder without prioritizing self-care and rest. Eventually, we begin to run on fumes and find it nearly impossible to do even the most basic tasks. We become mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted. Our work productivity begins to suffer. Our relationships begin to suffer. And before we know it our self-esteem begins to suffer. We may begin to experience anxiety and/or depression even if we never have before. Together we can learn to implement self-care practices to avoid burnout or to begin recovering from burnout you’re already experiencing.

  • First Generation College Students & Grad Students

The college experience can be the most exciting and most challenging time of one’s life. As a first generation college student myself, I am intimately familiar with the unique stressors that first generation college students are more likely to face. Some of these stressors may include a lack of college preparedness, imposter syndrome, social difficulties, financial distress, and self-esteem challenges. Additionally, the world of graduate school also comes with unique stressors such as work-school-life balance, increased workload, perfectionism, burnout and isolation to name a few. Together we can work towards getting you the educational experience that you are so deserving of.

  • Identity Exploration

In life we are often taught to fit inside certain boxes that may not always feel true to who we really are. Because of these societal expectations, we may find ourselves feeling lost and confused about who our most authentic selves are. There are many parts to our identity that you may be interested in exploring such as sexual orientation and gender, disability, race and ethnicity, spirituality and religion, values and desires, professional roles, and social roles such as partner or caregiver. All of your identities are valid and deserving of attention and love. Wouldn’t it be nice to finally meet the real you? Together we can create an accepting space for you to feel empowered to explore and celebrate all of your identities.

  • Communication & Relationships

Humans are social creatures by nature. But let’s be real… relationships can be hard sometimes. Whether platonic, romantic, or familial, there are a number of reasons as to why you may be struggling in your relationship(s) —difficulties with communication, role strains, a lack of intimacy, loose boundaries, and life transitions to name a few. Even though they can be challenging, building healthy relationships can lead to living a more meaningful and enjoyable life. Both individual and couples therapy can be helpful for relationships depending on the situation. Together we can discover what it takes for you to get the fulfilling relationships you’ve been wanting.
